As a natural result of the extensive client and contact base in the field of military artifact collecting that the principals of RARE MILITARIA enjoy to date after almost forty (40) years of continuous collecting, trading and selling, we often receive requests to provide our clients with "expert" opinion on the appraised replacement or investment value of select German World War II era item(s) in particular. These opinions have been subsequently utilized by our customers for a variety of purposes, to include, but not limited to, supporting insurance claims, annotating police reports in theft situations, substantiating investment portfolios and pre-purchase evaluation decisions for certain target items.

In addition to the benefit of referrals received due to word of mouth satisfaction voiced by our customers to fellow collectors, RARE MILITARIA's expertise in this field, as well as its ability to render professional level consulting, valuations and originality opinions, has also been demonstrated by its election to serve as a paid consultant for several motion picture and television projects.

Equally helpful, has been RARE MILITARIA's selection to serve as a consultant to several museums, as well as our professional interaction with several well known authors and artists specializing in German WWII era artifacts. Our service to these parties has not only included identifying the designed use and origin of select items, but also includes providing the client in each case with legible copies of all pictures and documents helpful to them for publications or display purposes.

RARE MILITARIA now welcomes the opportunity to provide these same professional services to individual private collectors as well. At a minimum, this includes consulting on the planned purchase of select items, pre-purchase appraisals of identified artifacts, valuations of whole collections or individual artifacts and research projects to assist in determining the potential historical significance of a target item or person.

Unlike the shills for a number of unscrupulous dealers who regularly prey on unsuspecting collectors by participating on internet collecting forums where they pretend to be independent fellow collectors, while subtly working to convince their prey that an item they are interested in is incorrect in some manner. Simultaneously, they encourage these parties to purchase a different item, sold by a dealer paying them a commission, which often turns out to actually be either a reproduction or re-worked original piece. Comparatively, RARE MILITARIA has no third party relationships to protect when giving advice to its clients.

As a benefit of this policy, rather than having to hide behind macho sounding nick names, such as "LUGERMAN" or "PANZER", which these characters employ in order to prevent their employers and others from connecting their true identities with the collecting of World War II era German or Confederate items, all RARE MILITARIA work product is produced on our firm's official stationery and signed by the RARE MILITARIA associate who actually performed the work.

RARE MILITARIA'S consulting, appraisal valuation and opinion work is performed on a prepaid fee basis at a rate of fifty dollars ($50.00) per hour (US), with a minimum charge of one hour applicable to any single event. In any circumstance where multiple hours of work are anticipated, We will require the advance payment of a retainer in the amount of ($250) two hundred and fifty dollars in US funds. When exhausted, the customer may be asked to refresh the retainer before any additional work will be performed.

In addition to its standard hourly fee format, RARE MILITARIA welcomes the opportunity to provide single event quotations to collectors for the performance of desired research work on a project specific basis. Whether you use this optional alternative or not, we remain confident that you will be pleased with the results we deliver. We similarly believe that your personal or corporate engagement of our services represents an investment that will not only add to the eventual resale value of your item(s), but will also give you greater satisfaction of ownership.
