I am often asked by fellow collectors and clients for my personal opinion concerning one or more of the various reference books on the market pertaining to the collecting of World War II era German artifacts. While it would be nice to believe that all such publications are accurate and reflect consistent information and item criteria that can be universally applied, this sadly is simply not the case.

Rather, all to often, many of these works suffer from an extreme bias against National Socialist Germany, and/or are pursuing a commercial agenda to establish a desirable item criteria to the detriment of actual history, that renders their findings and research highly suspect. Consistent with that concern, this portion of RARE MILITARIA's site will
seek to offer a frank and honest evaluation each month of a particular book selected for review from a collectors perspective that merits a positive recommendation.
