			Similarly visible in the reverse side view photo of Lieutenant Schmitt's Pilots Badge above is the fact that his badge has a wide hinge, bar type attaching pin. Incidentally, both the pin and catch are in excellent working condition. The script letter "A" appears stamped into the back center of the eagle, identifying this particular award as having been manufactured by the firm of F.W. Assmann & Sohne of Ludenscheid.
