Shown below are slightly enlarged photographs of both the front and reverse views of the Knight's Cross as it appears suspended from the ribbon. For reference, the Cross is magnetic, as evidenced by the traces of rust visible in spots on both sides. Moreover, it is constructed in the traditional three (3) piece manner. While the paint is largely intact, it bears a number of surface dings and scratches which further serve to confirm the age and operational use of this item. Consistent with that statement, there is also a heavy patina visible on all of the silver edges of the Medal which could only be there from many years of age. The loose stitching caused by the movement of the Oak Leaf, as well as the wear on both the medal ring and suspension loop, are also clearly seen in the photo on the lower right.
