1933 DATED, OSWALD SCHIMMELPFENNIG SIGNED, HEAVY BRONZE BUST OF ADOLF HITLER WEARING AN SA SHIRT JACKET AND BEARING THE INSCRIPTION "WILLE IST SIEG"
Consequently, they remain in high demand today by art enthusiasts around the globe, often fetching high prices when they infrequently appear for sale by international art auction houses and galleries. That being said, Schimmelpfennig works produced during the National Socialist period from 1933 to 1945, although politically incorrect by today's standards, remain greatly desired by advanced Third Reich collectors.
This is not only due to their exceptional beauty and detail, but also because they graced some of the most important government offices and private homes in Germany, to include those of Dr. Goebbels and SS Obergruppenfuhrer Reinhard Heydrich.
Moreover, Schimmelpfennig's works were given the distinct honor of being
put on special display on several occasions by the House of German Art
in Munich, and may have only been surpassed in appreciation and value
in Nazi Germany by those produced by another highly talented sculptor
and favorite of Der Fuhrer, Arno Brecker.
This particular Schimmelpfennig bust is manufactured out of high quality bronze which exhibits a deep patina finish consistent with its more than seventy (70) years
of actual age. Uniquely designed with a telescoping base, that gradually expands from a width of almost two (2") inches at one end, up to a width of four (4) inches on the other, thie complete item, though heavy, is very stable and can be safely placed on virtually any flat surface without fear of accidentally tipping it over.
ABOVE LEFT is a full frontal view of this bronze bust
which is physically nine inches (9") tall by nine (9")
inches wide by four inches deep at its widest point.
LEFT are two (2) photos of this item depicting it from
both a full right and left side view. Clearly seen in
each of these photos is the exception level of detail,
down to the ripples of the shirt jacket material,
which this piece of true artwork exhibits.
BELOW is an enlarged view of the artist signature, Berlin and 1933 which appears on the lower right corner of the bust as seen to the left.
